As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff, you will support medication management, patient monitoring, and a variety of clinical and office tasks. This position offers broad clinical exposure through hands-on involvement in patient care, compliance, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. This role will also hire for a Clinical Technician. As a Clinical Technician on this team, you will find a culture of respect, mutual support, and reliability. Every caregiver fills an essential role, and your efforts will help further facilitate the efficient and compassionate delivery of patient care. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee) OR Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
  • Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship)
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period)
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within new hire period (Nursing students required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire)
  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience
  • Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN. These include but are not limited to vital signs, weights, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, application of external monitoring devises , and further technical skills of phlebotomy, clean dressing changes, 12-lead ECG’s, and insertion of urinary Foley Catheters.
  • Assist with keeping patient rooms clean & orderly.
  • Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak English and to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Have the ability to perform basic clinical mathematics.
  • Maintain competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • Maintain personal growth and development through the ongoing process of formal and informal education
