About The Position

Join Kids FIRST and help make a meaningful impact on children affected by abuse. The Medical Assistant/Case Manager is a key member of our child abuse assessment team, supporting clinic operations, coordinating Karly's Law responses, managing medical records, and communicating with community partners. The ideal candidate is HIPAA-compliant, organized, and able to interact compassionately with families while staying calm under pressure. Kids FIRST is an Accredited Children's Advocacy Center and has been serving Lane County since 1994. Our team is dynamic and includes therapists, medical providers, forensic interviewers and other professionals, all under one roof. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clinical Support (50%) : Assist medical providers during exams Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment Manage patient charts and documentation Collect lab results, and provide follow-up instructions to patients and families May also assist with scheduling, phone inquiries, referrals Patient Records & Case Management (45%) : Compile, maintain, and proofread patient records (electronic and paper) in compliance with privacy laws; Gather information from healthcare and multidisciplinary partners Ensure timely report distribution Perform data entry and maintain files Grant Tracking & Reporting (5%) : Track and prepare statistics and periodic reports for grants

Requirements

  • Current certification from a national certifying body for medical assistant/medical office assistant, with minimum one year of clinical back-office medical assistant experience required
  • Current CPR/BLS certifications at hire
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and personal transportation
  • HIPAA-compliant
  • Organized
  • Able to interact compassionately with families while staying calm under pressure
