About The Position

Perform administrative as well as clinical tasks in the Cardiopulmonary, Pharmacy, Optical Shop and Occ Med departments.

Requirements

  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience required. (Nursing, Pharmacy or EMS experience preferred.)
  • High School Education or equivalent required.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Requires full range of body motion in handling patients
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time
  • Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination required.
  • Frequently requires lifting items weighing 35 lbs. or more; sometimes required to help move patients from wheel chairs to tables and back to chairs.
  • Ability to deal with the public efficiently, courteously, politely, and effectively required
  • Basic computer skills which enable the entry and retrieval of data including the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
  • Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals

Nice To Haves

  • CNA, CMA or completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre/post pulmonary function studies, standard electrocardiograms, oximetry testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, aerosolized bronchodilator therapy and places 24/48 hour Holter monitors
  • Performs Stress ECG's, treadmill and chemical; monitors cardiac status during stress echocardiograms, both treadmill and chemical
  • Enters patient data and prescription information into computer system; verifying patient information on new Rxs
  • Operates cash registers and performs transactions, ensuring patients receive accurate receipts
  • Answer all incoming phone calls
  • Greets and assists customers in the lobby and drive-through of the pharmacy
  • Package unit dose medications for nursing homes and prepare mail out prescriptions including Rx delivery orders
  • Proper fitting of eyewear. Frame selection, discussing patients options with Doctors RX preferences, and multifocal, tints, and other optical necessities
  • Coordinates with vendors, frame and lab representatives, viewing their product, discussing the latest technology and fashion
  • Checking in daily deliveries from lab
  • Dust showroom, clean and arrange product attractively, setting new displays, work dispensing tables, clean and organize
  • Performs urine drug screens, biometric screenings, and supports onsite wellness clinics
  • Performs related work as required
  • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties
  • Maintain a friendly, competent environment for patient testing
  • Maintain a cooperative, helpful working environment within the department, as well as during interactions with other departments
  • Make certain all waiting customers have been helped with prescriptions or assisted with questions on other product selection
  • Periodically inspect customer waiting area to keep it neat and orderly
  • Respect the privacy of and keep confidential all patient information
  • Maintain professional relationship with customers and other employees
  • Observe all Clinic policies and guidelines
