Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical assistant or receptionist role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

  • Answer multi-line phone systems, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining procedures.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and minor procedures by handling instruments and documentation.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process billing information and assist with insurance claims and authorizations.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure examination rooms are clean and well-stocked.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and external healthcare entities to facilitate care continuity.
