About The Position

Facilitates the efficiency of the Invasive Cardiology and Non-Invasive Cardiology by performing a variety of duties associated with the care of cardiac patients, as designated by the Cardiology Manager(s).

Requirements

  • Read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions, normally acquired through the completion of high school education or equivalent educational preparation.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff throughout the day.

  • One year of hospital or healthcare-related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients to and from cardiology testing and procedure areas.
  • Provides supportive conversation to preoperative patients.
  • Observes and report unusual findings or changes in patient conditions to the responsible nurse.
  • Participates in the positioning of anesthetized and non-anesthetized patients.
  • Performs simple treatments and other routine duties of pre-procedural care, including shave preps of the access and/or surgical site.
  • Participates in providing a safe, aseptic, and orderly environment for patients in all Cardiology areas as needed.
  • Handles simple/complex Cardiology equipment. Collects and sets up the equipment needed for procedures.
  • Performs non-patient, care-oriented duties, including errand running, as directed by the Cardiology Nurse Manager(s).
  • Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team.
  • Assists in the cleaning and preparation of rooms before the start of procedures.
  • Checks medical/surgical stock supply levels and stock instrument levels. Places orders with Materials Management and resupplies shelves.
  • Checks and restocks each suite according to established par levels.
  • Reports broken or missing equipment to the Nurse Manager(s). Coordinates repairs with Engineering or Materials Management.
  • Makes recommendations for adjustments in supply par levels based on usage.
  • Works with Materials Management and team leaders with supply procurement including communicating ordering information, receiving logging, and distributing special orders or equipment.
