About The Position

Chatterboxes is a clinician-owned pediatric Speech-Language Pathology practice built on a sanctuary model—designed to support both children and the clinicians who serve them. As we expand into Northern Virginia, we are establishing partnerships in Early Intervention (including the Alexandria PIE Program) and need expert support navigating Medicaid Managed Care enrollment. We are seeking a part time, remote specialist to work in a contractor position to help us successfully enroll with Virginia Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and build a clean, scalable billing foundation. This process is nuanced and time-intensive—and we’re looking for someone who has done this before and can guide us efficiently.

Requirements

  • Direct experience enrolling providers or organizations with Virginia Medicaid MCOs
  • Strong understanding of: Early Intervention services (IFSP model) Medicaid billing structures in Virginia
  • Experience with PECOS, NPPES, and/or Medicaid portals preferred
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and move processes forward proactively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with therapy providers (SLP, OT, PT)

Responsibilities

  • Lead enrollment with Virginia Medicaid MCOs (e.g., Anthem, Aetna, United, etc.)
  • Interpret and complete MCO-specific requirements and applications
  • Coordinate organizational and provider credentialing (group + individual NPIs)
  • Ensure alignment between: Early Intervention billing requirements (IFSP-based services) MCO billing processes and reimbursement structures
  • Advise on workflows for: Direct billing to MCOs (vendor model vs. state billing) Uninsured patient pathways and coverage through MCOs
  • Support setup for: Background check compliance (online systems) Fidelity assessments and documentation requirements
  • Act as a liaison between Chatterboxes and MCO representatives
  • Provide clear timelines, checkpoints, and expectations (this process can be slow—we need visibility)

Benefits

  • Embrace the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to achieve a healthy work-life balance while playing a key leadership role in our team's success.
  • Sleep well at night and be proud of your work by being a part of a team in a mission driven company changing the pediatric speech language pathology industry.
  • We are a neurodiversity affirming organization and proud to be an equal opportunity employer that believes in health, equity, equality, and prosperity for all so we can succeed in changing the way the pediatric speech language pathology industry works for both therapists and patients.
