About The Position

The role of Media Workflow Engineer develops and implements baseband, IP and cloud-based media workflows, which fulfill both internal and business obligations. This position also serves as a technical escalation point for the media archive group and the Virtual Technical Operations Center (VTOC)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of media workflow development experience
  • Strong background in virtual and cloud infrastructure platforms, such as VMWare, AWS and Google Cloud, and methods of deploying resources into those environment types
  • Extensive experience scripting in Python, Bash, Powershell or other similar languages
  • Strong understanding of video codecs, containers, and broadcast formats
  • Experience writing ffmpeg powered workflows
  • Fundamental knowledge of network architecture and protocols
  • Proficient skills deploying infrastructure-as-code
  • Experience with MAM/PAM systems or asset management workflows
  • Ability to troubleshoot fundamental network issues in video environments

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tooling and platforms a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in league's media encoding and distribution workflows, and the orchestration methods which support such operations
  • Design, implement, and maintain video processing pipelines including transcoding, rewrapping, and quality control workflows
  • Deploy and maintain all hybrid infrastructure requirements for media encode, distribution and archive platforms
  • Develop and troubleshoot live-streaming
  • Collaborate with various production teams to understand content requirements and implement technical solutions and automations
  • Support underlying storage and compute infrastructure in league office and arena locations
  • Implement league partner/vendor solutions that meet demands of the media business
  • Team up with infrastructure, network, arena and cyber security groups in order to ensure all solutions meet league's IT requirements and best practices
