Are you ready to join as a Media Specialist? In this role, you’ll support the Program Team by capturing photography, collecting media, and storytelling to enhance social media, development, and fundraising efforts. You will document the camper experience, activities, and special events in creative and engaging ways. You will collaborate with staff to ensure all key moments are captured while maintaining camper privacy and safety. The Camp Korey experience includes much of what you would think of at camp: archery, arts & crafts, pool time, stage night and more; all adapted to serve our campers. In this position you will be onsite full-time at Camp Korey in Mt Vernon WA, June 21 through August 15, 2026. Pay for the 8 week camp season is $4333 plus room and board. This position will report to the Program Coordinator and will team up with the whole staff to make the magic of camp happen. Minimum Age of 21 is required.

Requirements

Commit to the entire length of the contract term: JUNE 21–AUGUST 15 2026
Experience working with children, families, or individuals with life-altering medical conditions.
Joy in being silly! You’ll join cheers, dances, songs, and the playful spirit of camp.
Ability to “go with the flow” in schedule, people, and program changes.
Willingness to embrace challenging moments, grow through them, and stay open to learning.
Ability to learn and use necessary computer software (equivalent of social media).
A continuous improvement mindset to the services provided and your own growth.
Physical ability to sustain 10+ hour days of activities, functional ability to clean and participate in activities.
Immunization history with current vaccines and boosters including COVID
Must obtain CPR/AED certification within first week of employment (can be provided)
Acceptable background check clearance
Minimum Age of 21 is required.

Nice To Haves

Camp experience! Especially leadership or supervisory experience! Even better if it was at a SeriousFun or other specialized camp.
Life or professional experience with children ages 4–17
Life or professional experience with individuals with life-altering or complex medical conditions
Communication capability in multiple languages
CPR / AED Certification

Responsibilities

Capture high-quality photographs and video of camp activities, special events, and all-camp experiences.
Collect stories, quotes, and moments from campers, families, and staff to support fundraising, social media, and marketing efforts.
Manage, organize, and maintain digital media assets, ensuring accessibility for marketing, social media, and development use.
Assist in creating content for social media, newsletters, and development materials.
Support stage night and other all-camp events by photographing and documenting highlights.
Create a slideshow for each camp session to share at closing circle, highlighting activities, special moments, and camper experiences.
Ensure all media collection respects camper privacy, consent, and safety guidelines.
Participate in camp activities to capture authentic moments and foster relationships with campers and staff.
Working alongside volunteers to create a smooth, fun, and safe experience for families, offering guidance and support as needed.
