The Media Relations Associate manages proactive and reactive media engagement for NewYork-Presbyterian. This role involves coordinating media interviews, press events, and media projects with journalists, producers, and hospital staff, while ensuring institutional policies are upheld. The Media Relations Associate also contributes to crisis communications, monitors for media mentions and relevant breaking news, and serves as a key liaison during emergency situations and high-profile media coverage. Regular on-call responsibilities and on-site duties make this a dynamic and highly visible position within the hospital's communications team. This is a full time position working 4 days at our Corporate Office in mid-town Manhattan and the ability for 1 day remote. In addition, there is rotating on-call component that requires weekend coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years related experience in a public relations agency or broadcast news setting.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
