About The Position

The Opportunity: As a Media Prep Lab Services Technician you will be responsible for producing microbiological media, cell culture media, various solutions, buffers, clean glassware and prepared equipment for use throughout GMP and/or R&D groups. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following traits: Media and Equipment Preparation: Responsible for preparing stocks, custom media, reagents, buffers, and performing equipment-related tasks like cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining glassware and process equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ovens, washers, tanks). Operational Efficiency and Team Support: Improve team productivity and efficiency by prioritizing tasks, providing technical assistance, executing training programs, and sharing best practices across teams and departments. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, resolve safety concerns, provide safety training to others, and ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and other departmental policies. Leadership and Collaboration: Act as a leader within the team by assigning tasks, coordinating team efforts, facilitating communication with stakeholders, supporting process improvement initiatives, and supervising in the absence of Lead Technicians as needed. Quality and Accountability: Maintain high standards of professionalism, technical accuracy, and operational precision; ensure timely task completion, resolve issues, and maximize production and equipment utilization while adhering to quality and documentation standards. Requirements

  • You possess a High School Diploma or GED with +1 year of relevant experience.
  • You have a strong background in both media prep and glassware operations or related operational environment.
  • You possess a mechanical aptitude, familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment and understand proficiency with lab equipment.
  • You have a strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills: has proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in teams.
  • Ability to lead a team if necessary, in a performance based, customer focused operational organization.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in both media prep and glassware operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Successful demonstration of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong focus on quality, attention to detail and delivering results.
  • Must be able to work weekends, off shift and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to provide technical support and training for new technicians.
  • Computer skills: demonstrate ability to operate computers to enter work orders, purchase orders, notifications etc.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • AA/AS Degree in a related science major.
  • Completion of college-level course work in biological sciences and/or physical sciences.
  • Passion for continuous process improvement, LEAN or other Operational Excellence training and experience.
