The role requires ordering and tracking medications, reporting changes in resident status or medication orders to the Health Services Director or Journey Program Director, and maintaining accurate resident records including MAR sheets and charts. The Med-Tech will also manage department supplies, act as a point of contact for external parties when directed, assist with department scheduling, and update various communication logs. A key part of the role is assisting residents with daily medications and treatments in compliance with policies and regulations, observing and documenting medication ingestion, and maintaining the cleanliness and security of medication areas. The position also involves assisting medication aides and caregivers and participating in narcotic counts at each shift change, reporting any discrepancies immediately. Familiarity with medical abbreviations and terms is essential.
