About The Position

The Med/Surg/ICU Manager is responsible for coordinating both direct and indirect nursing care across the ICU, Med-Surg, and Skilled Care units. This role serves as a patient advocate and professional role model for the nursing staff, providing leadership in the planning, organization, and supervision of care delivery. The Manager evaluates staff knowledge and performance through written appraisals and direct observation, develops and implements educational programs, and ensures ongoing validation of staff competencies. Additionally, the position contributes to strategic planning and establishes departmental goals that align with CCM Health’s mission, vision, and organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to direct, guide, and mentor nursing personnel
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, including the use of cost-benefit analysis in decision-making
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for engaging with both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, instruction, supervision, persuasion, and influence
  • Proficient in analyzing, evaluating, integrating, and interpreting data and information
  • Skilled in the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures
  • Adept in active listening, conflict management, and team-building strategies
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, delegating, and communicating departmental goals in alignment with CCM Health’s mission and objectives
  • Ability to effectively manage daily challenges unique to a rural healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in presentation development, written communication, and computer applications
  • Minimum of four years of clinical experience in area of expertise
  • Minimum of four years of nursing leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or completion within 2 years.
  • Specialty Certification in Nursing Administration preferred.
