About The Position

In this role, you will work on a wide range of engineering challenges spanning hardware, software, and system integration. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a cross-functional engineering team with a highly talented group of engineers from varied backgrounds. You will own projects from ideation through implementation, ensuring our robotic systems operate efficiently and reliably in challenging field environments.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience designing PCBs using KiCAD; able to build and debug circuits (e.g., variable load using digipots and resistors)
  • Familiar with Arduino, LabJack, and embedded prototyping tools
  • Skilled in reading and designing electrical schematics
  • Capable of basic part modeling and drawings with Solidworks
  • Experience with robotics, embedded systems, and hardware/software integration
  • Understanding of power and control systems for electromechanical devices
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, I2C, Serial, Visa,, etc.)
  • Real-time programming experience with PLCs or/and microcontrollers including PLC design, wiring, and programming (Siemens, Beckhoff TwinCAT)
  • Strong systems-level troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of design-for-manufacturing and production transfer best practices
  • Comfortable wiring low voltage (24 or 48 VDC) and industrial electrical (208 VAC, 480 VAC)

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and integrate electronics hardware, wiring schematics, and power/control systems
  • Lead hardware bring-up for embedded systems, including Modbus devices and PLCs
  • Write Python scripts for data analysis, automation, and system testing
  • Develop and execute robot bring-up, calibration, and verification procedures
  • Define and maintain robotic system requirements and documentation
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams on system integration and manufacturability
  • Support manufacturing handoff, ensuring designs are production-ready
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
