About The Position

The Mechatronics Engineer will design, develop, and support mechanical and electro-mechanical systems used in manufacturing, automation, and product applications. This role requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals combined with hands-on metal fabrication knowledge, CAD proficiency, and experience integrating mechanical components with electrical, pneumatic, or control systems. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance, support new product development, and enhance production processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong mechanical design background with hands-on understanding of metal fabrication processes (welding, machining, forming, cutting, tolerancing).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, or similar).
  • Familiarity with basic electrical or controls concepts (PLC interfaces, sensors, actuators, wiring fundamentals).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, fabrication prints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose mechanical and electromechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication, collaborative mindset, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on aptitude for prototyping, testing, and mechanical assembly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation systems, robotics, pneumatic systems, or electromechanical devices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic systems, assemblies, and components, including mechanisms, fixtures, automation systems, and tooling.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles in combination with electrical, pneumatic, and control elements to create integrated solutions.
  • Generate 3D models, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and fabrication specifications.
  • Develop and prototype custom parts using metal fabrication processes (welding, forming, machining, cutting, etc.).
  • Support new product development efforts, providing mechanical and mechatronic input throughout the design cycle.
  • Work with internal and external fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability, proper material selection, and accuracy to specifications.
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and engineering teams for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and improvement.
  • Optimize existing systems for reliability, durability, and performance through design modifications and component upgrades.
  • Create assembly procedures, test plans, and standard work instructions.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatic systems, and control hardware into mechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for equipment failures or quality issues.
  • Coordinate with automation, electrical, and controls engineers to ensure seamless system functionality.
