As a Special Tooling Technician, you will be responsible for prototype assembly, inspection and rework/repair of non-deliverable hardware, special tooling and special test equipment. What You Will Do The qualified candidate will provide a wide range of mechanical support, requiring good troubleshooting skills, developing innovative solutions, and being able to implement solutions. The candidate will provide support of build processes for electro-mechanical assemblies both in a factory environment and in a lab. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative solutions to a wide range of issues in the factory by working on your own, or with engineering, or with operators on the assembly line. The strongest candidates will be able to document those solutions into CAD (CREO), generate drawings and fabricate the parts. The ability to work with people to understand the issue and communicate with others so the correct solution can be implemented will be critical. The Mechanical Tooling Technician is onsite in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Machining capability for aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics
  • Ability to understand Electrical Schematic Diagrams

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Machining background with aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics
  • Ability to generate CREO 3D CAD models and drawings
  • Familiarity with Electro-Optical assemblies
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn how to interrogate CREO 3D CAD models
