About The Position

The Sr Mechanical Tooling Engineer is responsible for designing high-precision manufacturing tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds to support production efficiency and quality. You will lead projects from design (CAD) to installation, troubleshooting, and validation, collaborating with engineering and production teams to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience, with a focus on optomechanical or optoelectronic packaging.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design.
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly.
• Expertise with GD&T.
• Expertise with tolerance analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tool fabrication, setup, and validation.
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly.
• Expertise with GD&T.
• Expertise with tolerance analysis methods.
• Generate and maintain process flow documentation.
• Manage technical requirements, tooling quotes, and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of tools.
• Fixture design & fabrication.
• Test set-up design & fabrication.
• Maintain BOM’s & build standards.
• Comfortable with PDM / Arena.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to support colleagues to achieve team objectives.
• Exercises independent Judgement
• Continuous learning mindset
• Execution of deliverables against schedule & quality targets.
• Experience with subcontractor management.
