Requirements

  • YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in Engineering Test of hardware

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency at reading machine drawings
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support multiple sites to drive test plans forward
  • An understanding of dynamics, statics, interferometry, high speed data acquisition, and full field strain measurement
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD 810 Vibration and Shock sections.
  • Able to mentally conceptualize and manipulate 3D objects
  • Experience with strain gages, thermocouples, LVDTs, load cells, accelerometers, high speed data acquisition, signal conditioning
  • Experience with 3D scanning, GD&T, vibration shaker control, electro-hydraulic control, basic machine shop functions, and modal testing
  • Experience with programing languages like Python and/or Visual Basic
  • Ability to design hardware in NX or other modeling software and interface with the machine shop for fabrication
  • A willingness to work with one’s hands and perform fine motor skill activities as well as heavy equipment setup
  • Ability to put academic theory into real world practice
  • A work ethic that places safety and data quality as the highest priorities, and possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Own a test from beginning to end: develop test requirements and procedures from customer input, estimate program costs, manage test schedules (hardware/labor), conduct test reviews, and have regular communication with the internal customer
  • Guide technicians who will support testing phases: setup/run/tear down
  • Design and fabricate fixturing for various tests
  • Prepare, scan, and analyze hardware using 3D scan technology
  • Perform static stress testing, hydrostatic testing, CG/MOI measurement
  • Perform modal testing, acoustic ring signature testing, electro-dynamic vibration shaker testing, and laser vibrometry testing
