About The Position

Provide engineering design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and / or modify an
array of specialized test systems and fixtures, and assembly and inspection
tooling from schematics and/or written instructions (specific or inferred). The
Mechanical Engineer has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned
tasks.

• Computer Skills: Proficient in use of typical MRP system software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar field from a four-year college or university, and 2 - 3 years of working experience in the aerospace industry.
• Must have familiarity with standard Microsoft office suite.
• Must be able to generate and update CAD models and drawings using Solidworks and / or Inventor programs.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts related to engineering principals needed to perform the job requirements.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Is frequently required to talk or listen.
• Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Aviation component repair or manufacturing experience a plus.
• NI / Labview experience, electrical aptitude, military, and aerospace industry experience are all a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design and drafting skills, including basic machining knowledge as applicable. Be key focus and provide expertise on new product introduction.
• Develop electromechanical skills to include understanding and use of switches and sensors, application and measurement of mechanical load and position.
• Complete appropriate test documentation and certifying to test results.
• Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment and techniques.
• Other duties may also be assigned.
