About The Position

Independence Corrugated, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking an Mechanical Technician to support our Oak Creek, WI facility. As a Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on our industrial corrugated equipment and machinery. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory technical manuals and electrical prints and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation, preferred.
  • Product layouts and production specification, preferred.
  • Quality standards, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
  • Demonstrate ability to teach other maintenance classifications in all qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and replace all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems use.
  • Demonstrate ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program CMMS. Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Follow up all work in order to insure repairs and work are performed properly.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanicals equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operation manual’s and engineering instructions and specifications.
  • Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts and on short notice.
  • Diagnose malfunctions systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
  • Understanding of PLC, relay logic controls, AC/DC drives, hydraulics, pneumatic, boiler systems and controls, steam systems, machining, welding, automation and fabrication.
  • Preform physically demanding task, such as moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install maintain or maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment and fixtures.
