Requirements
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- Performs duties comparable to that of a Senior Technician, utilizing the added skills and knowledge that comes with earning an Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a testing-related field
- Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
- Requires minimal supervision and technical input of a Principal Technician, Project Coordinator or Test Engineer
- Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications
- Ability to work overtime and weekends on occasion
- Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
Responsibilities
- Interpretation of internal and client requirements
- Supervising allocated staff and being responsible for the day to day management of the relevant discipline
- Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
- Maintaining accurate and systematic records
- Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
- Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety system
- Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
- Report writing, data interpretation and analysis
