Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
  • Live (or willing to relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location.
  • Excellent trouble shooting ability and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Effective communication skills as well as computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, programmable logic controls, motor control centers and instrumentation)
  • Completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or 2 year mechanical technical/vocational degree.
  • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline, tank farm or delivery facilities or certified technical designation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, align, maintain, and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, flanges, gaskets, tanks, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Perform pipefitting activities including cutting, threading, bending, welding (where qualified), bolting, and pressure testing.
  • Maintain and repair tank farm equipment such as transfer pumps, loading/unloading systems, manifolds, meters, and associated mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, corrosion, wear, or mechanical failure.
  • Perform OQ-covered tasks on pipeline systems in accordance with the Operator’s OQ plan.
  • Maintain active OQ qualifications for assigned tasks (e.g., valve operation, line break, leak repair, equipment installation).
  • Follow documented procedures for pipeline maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
  • Participate in pre-job safety briefings and task-specific risk assessments for pipeline work.
  • Comply with all DOT/PHMSA, OSHA, EPA, API, and company safety requirements.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space, and line break procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, spills, or releases immediately.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure tools and equipment are safe and serviceable.
  • Support spill prevention, containment, and response activities as needed.
