About The Position

The Battery Test Technician supports the testing, validation, and analysis of high-voltage battery systems in a controlled laboratory environment. This role is responsible for executing test procedures, assembling and disassembling battery components, and ensuring accurate data collection to support engineering and product development efforts. This is a hands-on, operations-focused position working closely with engineering teams to evaluate next-generation battery technologies. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety when working with high-voltage systems.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with high-voltage systems (training provided)
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving heavy components
  • Willingness to work in a test facility environment (non-production setting)
  • Ability to work at heights and operate or assist with cranes and rigging equipment
  • Flexibility to support testing schedules and operational needs
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and working with mechanical systems
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and safety protocols in a lab or industrial environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to document work and communicate findings effectively
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, physically demanding role
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering and technical teams

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical, technical, or hands-on experience preferred
  • Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Set up and execute safe and effective test procedures for battery assemblies and related components
  • Develop and assemble test instrumentation, wiring, fixtures, and specialized equipment
  • Monitor battery tests and ensure data is collected accurately and on time
  • Perform physical tasks involving high-voltage batteries, including movement, shipping, and disposal
  • Conduct inspections, assembly, and disassembly of battery cells, modules, and packs
  • Support safety and abuse testing, vibration testing, and lifecycle testing activities
  • Operate and monitor test chambers and automated systems
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including data collection and analysis
  • Communicate test results and findings clearly to engineering teams
  • Recommend improvements to product designs based on test results and observations
  • Assist in fabrication work, including modifying battery packs and building test fixtures
  • Follow all safety protocols, including working with cranes, rigging, and high-voltage equipment
  • Maintain organized workspaces and support continuous improvement initiatives
