About The Position

Mechanical Systems Design Engineer (Industrial Equipment) Company: Aegis Location: Indianapolis, IN Early career candidates welcome — new graduates encouraged to apply. A day in the life Begin your morning translating product ideas into precise 2D/3D models using CATIA or SolidWorks. Field customized design requests from internal stakeholders and turn them into manufacturable solutions. Build layouts, parametric models, detailed drawings, and all supporting engineering documentation. Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials to keep production moving smoothly. Support engineering change activities and update associated documentation and BOMs. Head to the production floor to troubleshoot fit, function, and integration issues on assemblies. Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure designs transition cleanly from screen to shop. Participate in hands-on testing and continuous improvement initiatives to refine performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with CATIA or SolidWorks (required).
  • Clear, organized communication and documentation skills.
  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and a practical problem-solving mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to FEA is a plus.
  • Internship or project experience welcomed—new grads are encouraged to apply.
