About The Position

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent (Chilled Water Systems) to lead mechanical construction and installation activities on large-scale data center projects across West Texas . The successful candidate will oversee HVAC, piping, and chilled water distribution system installations, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical leader with strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water plant operations, and industrial mechanical construction. The position involves close collaboration with project management, subcontractors, and field crews to deliver complex mechanical systems for mission-critical infrastructure. Location : On project site in West Texas

Requirements

  • 7+ years of field supervisory experience in mechanical or HVAC construction (data center or industrial preferred).
  • Experience with chilled water systems, including large piping, valves, and hydronic components, required
  • HVAC license required
  • Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation, ASME piping standards, and HVAC controls integration.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on team coordination and safe work practices.
  • Proficient in project scheduling, material takeoffs, and reporting tools (Procore experience a plus).
  • Willingness to work extended periods of time on project sites in West Texas

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all phases of mechanical construction related to HVAC and chilled water systems , including piping, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and air-handling units.
  • Lead and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and mechanical foremen to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives and design intent.
  • Manage daily site operations, material deliveries, and installation sequences to maintain progress and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce company and client safety policies.
  • Work closely with project engineers and quality control to perform inspections and testing of installed systems.
  • Support commissioning and startup of chilled water and HVAC systems.
  • Provide input on scheduling, manpower planning, and constructability reviews for mechanical scope.
