About The Position

Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity within our KC-135 Tanker Program. Our team is seeking an experienced leader to join the Oklahoma City, OK, location. This position is for a first line manager with direct reports performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. As an Engineering First Line Leader, the candidate will lead engineers working closely with the United States Air Force and industry partners to sustain and modernize the KC-135 to ensure fleet readiness and continued air dominance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role
  • 1+ years of experience working with Mechanical or Structures related statements of work.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Experience utilizing PMBOK and Boeing PMBP
  • Earned Value Management Control Account Manager experience
  • Root Cause Corrective Action experience utilizing BPSM
  • Ability to communicate with senior and executive leadership
  • Ability/experience identifying and implementing Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Experience leading tasks utilizing Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Experience leading Model-based design engineering and digital engineering tasks
  • Proven ability to manage high-performance teams and resolve team performance challenges
  • Strong tactical decision making ability

Responsibilities

  • Leads and provides oversight to employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of structural design.
  • Effectively plans and executes statement of work (cost, schedule, technical, & safety).
  • Establish, track, and automate value added metrics that help to effectively manage the business.
  • Identify, develop, implement, & champion initiatives to shape/modernize our business.
  • Establishes, develops, & maintains partnerships with team, customers, stakeholders, peers, & partners.
  • Effectively communicates with team, Leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor, motivate, and provide growth and development opportunities for team.
