About The Position

The Site Mechanical Superintendent for Data Center Construction helps oversee mission-critical field activities across multiple trade groups. This role focuses on high-speed, high-density Hyperscale and Colocation environments, optimizing resource allocation and manpower for complex mechanical systems. You will provide full support to the Project Director, Project Managers and the General Superintendent to ensure all construction complies with rigorous technical drawings, BIM/VDC specifications, and aggressive "speed-to-market" schedules.

Requirements

  • Certification: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health certification is strictly required.
  • Specialized Expertise: Deep knowledge of Plumbing, Sheet Metal/HVAC, and General Construction specifically within Hyperscale (e.g., Google, AWS, Meta) or Colocation (e.g., Equinix, Digital Realty) environments.
  • Software Proficiency: Practical experience using Navisworks for clash detection review and Procore or similar for field documentation.
  • Commissioning Knowledge: Proven experience navigating the Level 1-5 Commissioning process for mission-critical cooling systems.
  • Leadership: Proven management experience leading multiple trade groups and an ability to evaluate employee work habits in high-pressure environments.
  • Must pass a drug screen and physical testing.
  • Must pass a driver’s license check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to make firm decisions and commitments based on authority level.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership & OSHA Compliance: Maintain a "safety-first" culture by enforcing OSHA standards and site-specific safety plans. Conduct regular audits to mitigate risks associated with energized environments and overhead work.
  • Mission-Critical Oversight: Lead field progress across multiple data hall build-outs; act as the primary liaison between the Project Director, Project Managers, General Superintendent and Field Foremen to ensure mechanical installations meet Tier-rated specifications for Hyperscale and Colocation facilities.
  • BIM & VDC Integration: Utilize Navisworks and Bluebeam to review coordinated models. Ensure field installations match the BIM coordination to avoid spatial conflicts in congested overhead galleries.
  • Level 1-5 Commissioning (Cx): Lead the mechanical field team through the full commissioning cycle. Oversee equipment start-ups and ensure all documentation—including hydrostatic test logs and duct leakage reports—is meticulously prepared for Level 4 (Functional Performance Testing) and Level 5 (Integrated Systems Testing).
  • Precision Resource Coordination: Allocate manpower and specialized equipment (e.g., heavy rigging for modular cooling units) across projects. Serve as the central material coordinator to ensure "just-in-time" delivery.
  • Quality & QMS Compliance: Review QA manuals as they relate to high-performance systems. Monitor craft productivity and adherence to strict "White Space" protocols.

Benefits

  • Health & Welfare: Company Paid medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, accident & sickness benefit, basic group life and AD&D, and Employee Assistance Program
  • Time Off Benefits: Paid vacation, company-paid holidays, and paid sick leave
  • Financial Benefits: 401(k) retirement savings plan
