The opportunity: Engineers are responsible for coordinating with and providing engineering leadership to the entire operations group to assure safety, quality and efficiency throughout the engineering process. This can include project conceptualization tomissioning and start up. Engineers are required to actively seek ways of improving current methods, systems, and processes to provide customer satisfaction. Engineers must possess strong technical skills and be able to develop rmendations using both learned engineering skills and practical project management skills. Engineers can be responsible for all areas of the mill, including the Paper Mill, Fiberline and Power & Recovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Commitment to Safety -- must be able to identify safety improvement opportunities. Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations regarding industrial safety.
  • Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills: general ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.

  • Demonstrated project management andanizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of equipment in all areas of the mill -- including design changes to improve safety, efficiency and reduction of the use of resources and lowered production costs.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement throughout the mill - including researching, designing, and implementing such improvements. Develop solutions toplex problems.
  • Ensure that projects getpleted in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure equipment is performing safely and reliably and meets environmental standards.
  • Lead effective team processes to resolve issues and ensure alignment and understanding.
  • vendors, contractors, and governmental agencies as pertinent.
  • Ensurepliance with all regulations and laws as they affect mill projects.
  • Determine and track costs on capital projects and assist with justification.
  • Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting.
  • Develop, record and follow policies and procedures.
