Reporting to the Director of Project Engineering, the successful candidate will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective automated manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Coordinates and supervises manufacturing launch for new or revised products. High energy, a strong sense of curiosity and hands-on mechanical experience is required.

Requirements

5 years of progressive manufacturing/mechanical engineering experience in a manufactured products environment
Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment
Experience designing machines and machine components including but not limited to shafts, bearings, motors, frames, fixturing, etc.
Direct experience with 2 or more of the following manufacturing processes: forging, stamping, casting, welding, machining, assembly and injection molding.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team orientation

Responsibilities

Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes and product designs
Evaluates business cases for new manufacturing processes and product designs, presents recommendations to upper management
Creates new designs to solve difficult manufacturing problems
Designs or sources production equipment, robotic systems and automation equipment
Prepares detailed CAD models and drawings to facilitate fabrication
