Play an integral role in ensuring that every piece of modular industrial equipment that leaves our manufacturing floor meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. As a Mechanical/Piping Quality Control Inspector, you help maintain the integrity of our products and the confidence of the customers who rely on them. You will be the person our team looks to for technical accuracy, practical insight, and steady guidance as we continue to grow and innovate. Purpose of the Role You will be responsible for performing complex and technically demanding inspections that safeguard the quality of mechanical and piping components throughout our manufacturing and fabrication processes. Operating with a high degree of independence, you evaluate compliance with specifications, identify improvement opportunities, and provide expert recommendations that help us deliver reliable and consistent results.

Requirements

  • A technical school background and 7+ years of experience in mechanical or piping inspection, fabrication quality control, or a closely related discipline-or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Expert-level understanding of mechanical and piping fabrication practices, quality standards, inspection methods, and industry codes.
  • Strong independent decision-making skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and complete assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated success applying sound judgment to complex technical situations.
  • Advanced fluency with quality systems, processes, and tools, plus the ability to assist others and help troubleshoot issues.
  • The communication skills of a seasoned subject matter expert-able to inform, persuade, and collaborate effectively across diverse groups.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on mindset and a commitment to doing things right the first time.

  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing or fabrication environment is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical and piping inspections on modular industrial equipment during fabrication and assembly, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
  • Analyze design elements for technical feasibility, potential trends, and contractual expectations, recommending solutions where improvements or corrective actions are required.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning and organizing inspection activities, prioritizing workload, and identifying the most effective path to completion.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and records of inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and project teams to troubleshoot issues and support problem-solving across the manufacturing floor.
  • Provide direction and guidance to draftspersons or junior team members when needed, reviewing finished work and reinforcing proper methods and standards.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of quality systems, processes, and tools, leveraging your advanced understanding to elevate team capability.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently across disciplines, offering practical insight and guidance on complex or sensitive technical matters.
