The Role: We are looking for our next Mechanical Integrity Technician within our Midland Methocel Production Facility. The Technician is part of a high-performance team, serving as an influential leader and technical resource performing mechanical integrity field inspections of Pressure Vessels and registered piping. They also oversee the code calculations of the equipment to enable a reliable and safe operating environment. This position is located in Midland Michigan Compensation: The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $86,000-$109,000 In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location. What You’ll Do: Inspect pressure vessels, boilers, and piping systems for compliance with design, fabrication, installation, and operational standards. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and permits to verify proper construction and installation. Perform standard tests using gauges, meters, and hand tools to assess equipment condition and calibration. Evaluate materials, welds, corrosion, cracking, and safety devices for integrity and safety. Calculate allowable pressure limits, strength, and stress tolerances. Document inspection results and maintain detailed logs for regulatory and legal purposes. Investigate accidents or failures to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and operators to resolve safety and compliance issues. Recommend corrective actions for violations or unsafe conditions. Stay current with ASME, API, ANSI, and local safety codes and standards. Perform structural, thermal, and stress analysis using tools like ANSYS, Compress, or FEA software. Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including welding engineers, material scientists, and project managers. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry codes throughout the design process. Conduct prototype testing and performance evaluations. Document all phases of the design process for future reference and troubleshooting. Stay updated on technological advancements and regulatory changes in pressure vessel design. Address and resolve design or functionality issues during production or operation.
