The primary role of the Mechanical Integrity Engineer is to manage the activities necessary to ensure that equipment/assets are designed, fabricated, installed safely in an ergonomic and environmentally protected fashion. The role also ensures that equipment operates at the most efficient level while maximizing the useful life of each system. The M.I. Engineer will improve asset/capacity reliability through the elimination of repetitive failures, technical support of the maintenance function and the management of appropriate inspections and maintenance processes through a detailed Mechanical integrity Program. The M.I Engineer will apply her/his expertise in the areas of inspection and repair of pressure vessels API 510, aboveground storage tanks, inspections of Process Covered Piping (API 570), equipment reliability, corrosion (material compatibility and metallurgy) in the effort of reducing capital and maintenance costs. Act as an advisor to the production departments, providing proactive leadership, direction, single point accountability and technical expertise required to achieve and sustain optimum reliability, maintainability, and extend useful life for chemical manufacturing assets.
