Handex is on the move — and we want you to join us! Handex is expanding and seeking Mechanical Field Technicians to join our Contamination Assessment and Remediation Services Team. This is a unique opportunity to work on a critical wastewater treatment remediation system at a high-profile Chemical Transfer Terminal in Bayonne, NJ. In this role, you will part of a team that is delivering outstanding service to our client. This position offers the chance to work hands-on at an active industrial facility while playing a key role in Handex’s continued growth and environmental impact. Requirements

  • 2 years experience as a Mechanical Field Technician in a Wastewater, MUA, Chemical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing or Military environment.
  • High school diploma/GED required. Vocational or Technical training. OSHA 40 or TWIC a plus.
  • Experience to repair and maintain mechanical equipment. Knowledge of remediation systems, gauges and pumps a plus.
  • Comfortable taking work direction and performing tasks that require walking and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and locations, some of which may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work days (M-F) and overtime when required.
  • Highly reliable team player along with a good work ethic is a must.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to grow and develop.
  • Valid driver license in good standing and ability to pass background checks (criminal/drug/alcohol/DMV) required.

Responsibilities

  • Report and follow instructions from the onsite Project Manager and Lead Operators to carry out assigned tasks to support daily operations and maintenance/repair activities for wastewater remediation systems and equipment.
  • Repair or replace process equipment, pumps, meters, gauges, and controls.
  • Maintain access to land wells and system components by performing landscaping duties using hand tools, power tools or precision equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines.
  • Ensure that job site indoor/outdoor areas are organized, clean, and free of debris.
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with fieldwork protocols.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and advancements in wastewater treatment and remediation technologies to enhance field operations, system performance and professional development.
  • Understand, follow, and strictly adhere to all required safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Train and perform other duties as assigned.
