About The Position

Mechanical Field Technician – Downhole Installations Salamander is seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Technician to support downhole cable deployments, mechanical installations, and wellsite execution activities. This role is ideal for field professionals with strong wellsite experience who want increased technical ownership and a more direct role in shaping field operations. This position requires regular field presence and frequent travel to domestic and international job sites. Total travel may be up to but not limited to 60%, depending on project demands, and may vary over time. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Install mineral insulated cables, thermocouple systems, and fiber optics in well environments Deploy and secure cables using tubing clamps or coil tubing operations Monitor and protect cable integrity during deployment Test and troubleshoot cable systems during installation Interface with workover crews and customer representatives on location Support medium-voltage splice and termination activities as required Provide field-level technical guidance and support Minimum Qualifications: 3–7 years of oilfield mechanical field experience (onshore or offshore) Experience with coil tubing, drilling, or well intervention operations Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (30–60%, project dependent) Core Competencies: Technical or engineering degree preferred; strong field background highly valued Familiarity with ESP cables, instrumentation cables, clamps, and wellsite hardware Strong understanding of wellsite execution discipline Ability to operate in dynamic field environments Why This Role Is Different: Field technicians work with direct access to senior management, ensuring that operational insights and field feedback directly influence procedures, engineering decisions, and execution strategy. Requirements
