About The Position

This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include performing design and sizing of equipment, producing datasheets and specifications, conducting hydraulic calculations and analyses, 3D modeling support, construction drawing reviews, and any other mechanical components utilized in heavy industrial/manufacturing or oil & gas facilities or required by our clients. The Mechanical Engineering Supervisor also oversees and supports a team of two or more Mechanical Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10-years’ experience practicing discipline specific engineering on multidiscipline project teams required.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
  • Advanced communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, to deliver complex information effectively and align people with the needs of the project/team.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, to be able to manage complex situations with multiple layers and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.
  • Advanced awareness of workflow, and project tradeoffs to make decisions based on needs now and into the future.
  • Highest level of leadership skills with experience leading teams through strategic processes and aligned with peer group project needs and timelines.
  • Expert user of technology and software required to execute daily tasks.
  • Must have a valid, active driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Proficient with HYSYS, Unisim, ProMax, and/or VMG Symmetry. Proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Produces equipment datasheets and specifications.
  • Develops and reviews pipe specifications while ensuring pump/hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations are correct.
  • Creates pipes, valves, and fittings Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Performs equipment, pipe, and valve technical evaluations on contractor bid packages.
  • Coordinates with other discipline engineers and designers.
  • Produces line and equipment lists.
  • Performs 3D modeling support & isometric reviews.
  • Reviews construction drawings and documents.
  • Performs site walkdowns including as-builts to support construction efforts.
  • Works with contractors to answer Requests for Information (RFIs), produce project cost and bid packages, and mechanical scope of work documents.
  • Develops models in CAESAR II to perform stress analysis.
  • Develops stress analysis reports.
  • Conducts technical review of discipline engineering deliverables.
  • Performs discipline engineering tasks within the mechanical knowledge base.
  • Acts as Engineer-of-Record and review/seal designs created by other team members.
  • Assist with training/mentoring less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
