Description Position Summary Provides supervision and coordination activities to cost effectively maintain the mechanical fixed equipment (non-rotating) used to operate the Methanex USA LLC production facilities, ensuring the safety of personnel, protection of the environment and the reliability and availability of plant to achieve production targets. Position Responsibilities Serves as an active member of the Maintenance leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of the department’s strategic direction. Responsible for and effectively manages the budget and the execution schedule of the team. Ensures all work is completed safely and cost effectively to achieve the required quality and schedule. Manages the day to day work within the plant area. Supervises shutdown and turnaround work within the plant area. Responds to Operations priorities to minimize production loss. Ensures that all maintenance work is integrated into the Operations department requirements. Ensures effective integration and coordination with the other supervisors and disciplines within the Maintenance department. Ensures that technical skills within the team are at a level consistent with industry, and establishes/oversees competency assurance programs to this effect. Ensures that all plant maintenance is implemented in accordance with Methanex Standards and Best Practices, and are in compliance with all relevant USA legislation. Reviews and ensures proper logs and failure codes are documented within the CMMS for executed Work Orders. Ensures that all Plant Changes are implemented in accordance with the applicable Methanex Management of Change procedures. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities to drive down the unit cost of maintenance and/or minimize overall risk of harm to people, harm to the environment or loss prevention, and communicates these to the responsible person. Performs other duties as assigned. Regularly communicates progress/issues associated with the team. Communication of progress/issues to the Maintenance Manager and other key stakeholders. Daily/weekly communication updates of progress (Cost/Budget and Progress/Schedule) and issues. Maintains good and regular communications with contractor companies to ensure timely feedback regarding progress and performance. Provides effective leadership to the Mechanical team, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Coaches mechanical technicians and manages their performance, developing long‑term growth plans to enhance capability. Responsible for people‑management activities, including hiring, termination, training and development, performance reviews, and administering corrective actions. Contributes to the ‘operational excellence’ for Methanex USA as an effective member of the Maintenance department. Position Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent desired 7-10 years experience in a Mechanical trades role, 5+ years experience in supervisory capacity Ability to read and interpret plant drawings (P&IDs, ISOs, etc.) Experience in, and/or knowledge of, common welding processes for carbon steel, stainless, chrome and duplex Knowledge and understanding of standard mechanical inspection techniques and technologies Knowledge and understanding of pressure containing equipment requirements and regulations Experience with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs Experience with Root Cause Analysis Experience with ISO 9000 Good decision making skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Priority Setting and Time Management skills A self-starter Ability to maintain positive and effective internal and external customer relationships Competency with computer software such as Microsoft Office, Maximo or other CMMS programs. Able to work in a Petrochemical plant environment, which can involve noise, heat, heights, inclement weather, etc. Demonstrates the flexibility required to adapt to varying work arrangements to meet the needs of the manufacturing operation Ability to perform on‑call duties as needed
