About The Position

PacSci EMC, an operating company under Ralliant, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship provides hands-on experience partnering with design engineers, supplier partners, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable at scale, and compliant with performance, quality, and reliability requirements.

Requirements

  • Working toward a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and curious, eager to learn.
  • Comfortable iterating and receiving feedback.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PCB layout tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD).
  • Soldering or hardware prototyping experience.
  • Exposure to configuration control processes.
  • Interest in aerospace or mission-critical electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating drawings utilizing SolidWorks.
  • Support creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs), part specifications, and configuration control documentation.
  • Perform part research and assist in evaluating alternate component options.
  • Record test results, anomalies, and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Supplier Quality to troubleshoot build issues.
  • Review supplier datasheets and manufacturing guidelines to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) reviews.
  • Identify documentation gaps or process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
