Internship Description: Mechanical Engineering Intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions to real world challenges and learn design and manufacturing activities in a fast-paced, creative, avionics and defense manufacturing company. Responsibilities may include research, design, development, and testing of electronics packaging of interface panels products and systems for aerospace and ground applications as well as creating or improving technical processes within the company. The mechanical engineering intern is responsible for providing support and assistance to technical teams to ensure design goals are met. Project Description The intern will help develop and implement design standards for Korry electronics impacting the design activities for Mechanical Engineers in the Utility Control Systems Business Unit. These may include but are not limited to: Work with an Electrical and Systems Engineering Intern on a project to develop a replacement for the current Programmable Interface Module Develop a standard for estimating product cost and weight at various stages of product development Develop a standard for optical and lighting analysis and measurement processes The intern will also support design activities including troubleshooting legacy design issues, recommending solutions and implementing engineering change orders to resolve them in a timely manner.
