The Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist the Lumirror Engineering Department in the completion of project work. Project work will entail working both with other mechanical engineers and independently on small-scale projects.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office products
• Ability to model existing equipment configurations in 3D solid modeling CAD along with producing 2D detailed fabrication drawings
• Ability to use (or learn) AutoCAD
• Must have a strong work ethic and be highly self-motivated
• Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with vendors and contractors
• Ability to report in a clear and concise fashion
• Ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineering student entering his or her junior or senior year

Nice To Haves

• Strengths in machine design, power transmission, and design of fabricated components will be a plus
• “Hands on” and practical mechanical experience/background a plus

Responsibilities

• Work in a support role to other engineers on aspects of their projects
• Work on various small projects as suitable for skill level.
• Work from concept to design and installation (depending on project, lead time, etc.)
• Review work assignments to develop engineered solutions
• Generate fabrication drawings and project budgets
• Specific projects intern will work on will be discussed during the interview process
