Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related major.
  • Students must be returning to school following the internship.
  • The applicant shall be with abilities in mechanical design, drafting, tolerance analysis, and be familiar with the following software tools: SolidWorks, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Agile.
  • The applicant shall possess strong analytic and statistic skills, and have the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent hands-on, communication and team work skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communications, initiative, and teamwork
  • Knowledge of FEA software such as ANSYS is a plus.
  • Experiences in opto-mechanical designs is a plus
  • Experiences with production development is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to design tooling and fixtures for fiber-optic components development, perform tolerance analysis.
  • Create detailed piece part and assembly drawings, specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
  • Preform incoming inspection on received parts.
  • Assemble and test prototype component, tooling and equipment.
  • Document and ECO release of engineering reports, engineering drawings, bill of materials and equipment design specifications.
