CommScope is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Shakopee, MN. How You’ll Help Us Connect the World As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Fiber Optic Product Engineering team in the generation of new product ideas driven by customer feedback and market trends.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s (upcoming juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

• Possess a high-energy level, strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Have experience in solid modeling software and data management, CREO experience preferred
• Have a general understanding in FEA analysis, Ansys preferred
• Possess good hands-on mechanical ability
• Have strong verbal, written, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Creating new product concepts and product designs for Fiber Optic Networks
• Generating product assembly drawings & documentation for manufacturing
• Collaborating with manufacturing to optimize the design for manufacturability
• Interfacing with engineers on product improvements and solutions
• Working closely with our development lab to test and demonstrate product compliance
