At Centrus Energy’s American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio, you’ll support a high-tech nuclear fuel manufacturing facility operating under NRC licensing and DOE oversight. This internship offers hands-on experience with precision manufacturing systems, rotating equipment, and plant reliability initiatives that support advanced uranium enrichment technology. You’ll work alongside plant engineers and operations teams to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of production equipment and mechanical systems. Responsibilities may include assisting with equipment troubleshooting, supporting preventive and predictive maintenance evaluations, reviewing and updating mechanical drawings, supporting CAD modeling updates, performing basic calculations and data analysis, participating in system walkdowns, and contributing to root cause and corrective action efforts. You’ll gain direct exposure to how engineering principles are applied in a regulated nuclear manufacturing environment where safety, compliance, and operational excellence drive every decision.
