Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our engineering team with product design, documentation, and manufacturing support initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers on real projects that directly impact production and product development. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited institution and is proficient in SolidWorks. This individual will gain exposure to new product development, sustaining engineering, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited institution
  • Minimum sophomore standing preferred
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation required)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals (mechanics, materials, basic design principles)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or product design
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles
  • Experience working in a hands-on lab or production environment
  • Exposure to ERP or document control systems
  • Basic knowledge of sheet metal, machined components, and fabrication processes

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
  • Assist with design updates, engineering change documentation, and drawing revisions
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
  • Develop detailed mechanical drawings, assemblies, and BOM documentation
  • Assist engineers with tolerance stack-ups and design for manufacturability reviews
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action efforts
  • Help organize and maintain engineering documentation and CAD libraries
  • Participate in project meetings and provide status updates on assigned tasks
