Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern located in our Austin, TX site. Reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager, the student will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Jr/Sr student pursuing degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering major
  • 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, NX, Creo)
  • Understanding of GD&T/Dimensional Management
  • 3D Printing experience, Manual or CNC milling/lathe experience
  • Samples of hands-on Design Project or work experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED! (include portfolio link in resume)
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
  • Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills
  • Available to start on May 26th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA

Responsibilities

  • Support Various Programs with Tooling Design and Tooling Maintenance Support
  • Perform Tolerance Analysis
  • Run and process 3D Prints
  • Create and release drawings, interface with internal machine shop
  • Create mechanical design concepts for various products and clients using mechanical tools.
  • Work with the team to build and test prototypes.
  • Diagnose and make recommendation on prototypes, assembly or design failures.
  • Attend team meetings to support project work/deliverables as needed
