About The Position

SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC), Performance Review Institute (PRI) and SAE International (SAE), deliver shared solutions to industry's common challenges. Join us and create a higher standard for a better world. This internship sits within SAE’s Workforce Development Strategic Product Line (WFD SPL), the team responsible for aligning industry workforce needs with SAE programs and solutions. This intern will provide grounded insight into what mechanical engineering students learn, what skills employers expect, and how emerging engineers evaluate career opportunities. You will help ensure that workforce strategies, programs, and industry conversations stay rooted in real engineering skill demands and authentic student experience.

  • Participate in strategy meetings and help interpret technical workforce needs
  • Provide perspective on relevant curricula, skills, and early-career expectations
  • Validate whether proposed initiatives and programs align with real-world engineering skill development
  • Help translate industry workforce challenges into actionable program ideas grounded in technical reality
  • Help prepare summaries and briefing materials that connect technical needs to strategic decisions
  • Provide occasional support for WFD-related events in order to capture insights to inform future workforce strategy and program design
