About The Position

Support the work of the Mechanical Engineering project teams while being provided mentorship to perform engineering related tasks Assist with mechanical design activities for new and existing products Create and update 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, primarily for injection-molded plastic parts and some machined components Support design for manufacturability efforts, with emphasis on plastic injection molding Assist with engineering calculations, structural analysis (including FEA), and interpretation of results Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting activities Create and maintain technical documentation Learn and use engineering tools such as Creo, Windchill, ANSYS, and Jira Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Microsoft Teams and Outlook

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Engineering Technology
  • Junior or Senior standing (expected graduation 2027 or later)
  • Interest in product design and development
  • Experience with 3D CAD / solid modeling through coursework or projects
  • Basic understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing in Creo
  • Experience with ANSYS or other FEA tools through coursework or projects
  • Familiarity with part design for plastic injection molding
  • Familiarity with machining processes
  • Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience
  • Experience with industry-standard CAD and analysis tools
