About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Designer I, you will support the discipline to design complex HVAC, energy, and mechanical systems for commercial buildings. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to design mechanical systems that balance technical excellence, budget, and schedule. Deliver Results Support the incorporation of overall design intent into detailed documentation, assisting in producing contract documents while developing your design thinking skills. Prepare building models and detailed contract documents for various project types, refining technical skills and gaining exposure to different delivery methods. Receive mentorship from experienced Mechanical Engineers . Research plumbing, mechanical, and fuel/gas codes, learning to interpret and apply them with guidance from senior engineers. Perform basic HVAC and mechanical system sizing, gradually improving accuracy and efficiency through hands-on experience and mentorship. Gain knowledge of design software (Revit, AutoCAD) for presentations and production, building proficiency in emerging technologies. Assist in selecting and integrating sensors, actuators, and basic control strategies while learning the principles of Building Automation Systems (BAS). Contribute to energy modeling and static pressure calculations, progressively understanding how these analyses influence design decisions and system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Comfort using Revit and AutoCAD preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam is preferred.
  • Post-graduation professional engineering experience preferred.
