About The Position

Lockheed Martin's MFC BA is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the Dallas, TX site. The position is for a Mechanical Design Intern to support Launchers programs. The product scope of this activity includes support of missile and/or canister hardware. The engineer will be involved in daily production issues and will help troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the design. Tasks also include Creo modeling of design for subsystems and components, interface development, and coordination with Stress, Materials, Production Operations, and other departments. The engineer will also be involved in the development and release of engineering drawings and documents. Prior knowledge of Microsoft Office and CREO/Windchill software is a plus.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or similar majors with a strong academic record.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD such as: CATIA/3DX, Creo, Solidworks, Siemens NX, or other design and simulation tools.
  • Experience with hands-on engineering projects, such as designing and building mechanical systems or devices.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with GD&T, sketching, technical drawing standards, or similar hands-on hardware support.
  • Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)
  • Basic FEA/CFD exposure (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL).
  • Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g. SAE, ASME competitions).
  • Basic understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Active clearance.
