About The Position

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Atlanta, GA on February 11-12, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Atlanta, GA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to be based in Atlanta, GA. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. Co-ops at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. This position will work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables this position to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the co-op.

Nice To Haves

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous internship, project, or co-op experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning, design and modification phase of projects.
  • Co-ops are designed to introduce and build essential hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Will be assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
