About The Position

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Atlanta on February 11-12, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Atlanta office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Engineering Intern to join their transportation structures group in the Atlanta - Midtown office. This position will focus primarily on assisting with the design of Georgia based transportation projects. Projects are delivered using procedures typical to the Georgia Department of Transportation and local Georgia governments and municipalities. Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
