About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, Wearable and Biomedical Devices at SharkNinja, you will work alongside a world-class group of engineers developing next-generation wearable, biosensing, and medical device technologies within our Shark space. This role offers hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, data analysis, and refinement of devices that integrate sensors, embedded hardware, and user-centered design. You will contribute to the development of systems that measure and interpret physiological signals such as ECG, PPG, EMG, temperature, motion, and impedance, applying core concepts in biomechanics, signal processing, and control systems. This role provides hands-on exposure across the full product lifecycle, from early concept development and prototyping through testing, refinement, and validation. You will support the design and evaluation of sensor-enabled systems, contribute to data-driven engineering decisions, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver solutions that balance performance, usability, and reliability. If you are motivated by applying engineering fundamentals to real-world health and wellness challenges and want to help shape the future of how people interact with technology on and around the body, this could be your next role.

  • Coursework or project experience in biomechanics, signal processing, or control systems
  • Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA
  • Familiarity with physiological signals (e.g., ECG, PPG, EMG, temperature, motion, impedance) and basic signal processing concepts
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python for data analysis, visualization, and algorithm development
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering/physics fundamentals including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design
  • Understanding of medical device design principles, including safety, usability, and reliability
  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and relentless drive to identify potential problems and take responsibility for their resolution
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, strong first principles thinking, positive can-do attitude, and proven ability to deliver robust, elegant, and innovative solutions to complex design challenges
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and dive into hands-on development and testing workstreams
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues , effectively, and concisely
  • Comfortable multitasking and responding quickly to shifting priorities without losing sight of longer-term projects
  • Passionate about product design & function
  • Can identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions autonomously and as part of a team
  • “Hands-on” experimental testing of some sort, either in the workshop or in a science context
  • Embodies SharkNinja's success drivers:
  • Rarely Satisfied – Adopt a “no delays” mentality in delivering against market needs/timing
  • Progress over Perfection - Make quick, daily progress and continuously adapts to achieve results rather than requiring perfect planning
  • Details Make the Difference - Can coordinate timelines & deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency across all consumer-facing materials
  • Winning is a Team Sport - Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships
  • Communicate for Impact - Strong communication skills - ability to deliver effective presentations to all levels of management
